The oldest hotel in Rome from 1467
Once upon a time there was the "Montone" then it became the "Sun". This is how "Sole al Pantheon", one of the oldest hotels in the world, was born. The establishment is as ancient as the famous square in Rome which overlooks, Piazza della Rotonda. Its history dates back to 1467 when the hotel was the Locanda del Montone.
Thanks to skilful restoration and renovation, the hotel has now acquired a new aspect, characterized by a modern design with respect to the history as an inn: its origins and history are captured in the details, from the "ram" in the furniture to the commemorative plaques on the facade of the hotel.
